美国亚历山大道森中学来我校访学交流

       2014年3月17日，我校迎来了7名从远方来的客人——美国亚历山大道森中学的7名师生。亚历山大道森中学是位于美国科罗拉多州的一所顶级私立学校，此次访学活动由道森中学的Janice老师带队，在为期十天的交流活动中，学生们在育才中学为他们精心挑选的家庭中，与家庭成员同吃同住，并在育才中学上课，感受和体验中国的文化。

3月18日上午，我们为美国客人们在国象楼四会议室举行了欢迎仪式，会议由学校国际部夏颖主任主持。在会上，程静校长代表学校向客人表达了热烈的欢迎，并介绍了重庆育才中学的基本情况和办学理念。欢迎仪式后，美方师生在国际部老师的带领下，参观了育才中学校史馆、图书馆、电子阅览室、教学楼群 、运动场，并充分熟悉了校园。他们对育才的教育理念和丰富多彩的学生活动产生了极大的兴趣，并表示非常期待未来几天能走进班级，体验育才教育，感受育才的特色。

下午，在国际部老师的带领下，道森中学的师生们来到具有育才特色的书法课。在老师的安排下，书法班的同学们与道森中学的同学结成了学习伙伴，并临时担起了他们的“小老师”。育中学孙朝云副校长亲临现场指导，并鼓励两校学生多接触交流。

在接下来的时间中，道森中学的同学们深入走进育才课堂，体验育才的国象、书法、民乐、数学、英语等课程，并与我校国际班的学生一起剪纸、打乒乓球，感受了中国的中学校园里学生们的生活。

3月25日下午，学校在食堂为美国师生们举行了欢送晚宴，金永校长出席晚宴并发表热情扬溢的讲话。他表示，两校的合作不仅两校师生的互相来访，更是中美教育和文化的交流与合作，这给双方深入了解对方文化提供了一个很好的窗口。最后，金校长还诚挚地告诉道森中学的师生们，育才永远将会是他们在中国的家，金校长邀请道森中学师生再次来育才访学，将两校友谊和伙伴关系永远保持下去。

此次的交流活动是重庆育才中学与亚历山大道森中学的第一次师生交流合作，由两校共同发起，两校将以此为基础，建立长期合作伙伴关系。这次交流活动既让来自美国的师生们感受到了中国的文化，同时也对促进育才中学学生开拓视野，了解美国文化有着重要的意义。

                                       Guests from Alexander Dawson School, Colorado, US

On March 17^th, seven guests from US Alexander Dawson School，a top-notch private school in the State of Colorado, came to visit Yucai in an exchange program for the first time. The visiting team, led by Janice, embarked on a 9-day journey in ChongqingYucaiMiddle School where they lived with host families that were carefully chosen and attended classes in order to observe and experience Chinese culture.

On the morning of March 18^th, hosted by Xia Ying, director of International Department, a welcoming ceremony was held, during which Cheng Jing, vice headmaster of Yucai, extended her warm welcome to our guests on behalf of the school and gave a brief introduction of Yucai in such aspects as theory on school management and future development. Immediately after the ceremony, teachers from International Department showed the guests around the campus, covering Exhibition Hall of the school, library, e-reading room, teaching buildings, playground, familiarizing them with the physical environment of Yucai. The guests showed great interests in Yucai’s educational concept and the colorful life of students, indicating that they were looking forward to experiencing Yucai education and its characteristics by spending time with students in the classroom.

In the afternoon, accompanied by teachers from International Department, the guests came to attend the class of Chinese Calligraphy with Yucai features, where they were arranged to partner with students in the class in order to learn the basics of calligraphy by hand. Vice headmaster Sun Chaoyun came to direct the class himself and encourage them to make further contact with each other.

In the following days, the guests went to the classes of International Chess, calligraphy, folk music, math and English, besides, they also spent considerable amount time with students in such activities as paper-cutting and playing Ping-Pong to experience school life in China.

March 25^th, the final day of their stay in Yucai, saw a farewell dinner held in the school dinning hall, which headmaster Jin Yong attended and delivered an enthusiastic speech. In the speech, he said the denotation of the cooperation between our two schools does not only lie in the mutual visit, but also indicates the exchange and cooperation between Chinese and American education and culture, providing a perfect opportunity for both sides to further their understanding of each other. Lastly, he told the teachers and students from DawsonSchool that Yucai will always be their home in China. He hopes to see the students again in Yucai and the friendship will last forever.

This exchange activity, the first such co-initiated by Yucai and Dawson, marked their first interaction, on which base a long-term partnership will be established and furthered. It benefits American students and teachers in their lively experience of Chinese culture, and equally the students from Yucai in their expanding horizon and understanding American culture.
